4,000 Acts of Kindness Illuminate Bobcean Elementary’s Raise Craze Fundraiser
At Bobcean Elementary in Flat Rock, students are
trading fundraising sales for selfless service, turning their annual Raise
Craze fundraiser into a beacon of goodwill. For the past three years, this
kindness movement has inspired students to perform over 4,094 acts of kindness,
spreading joy and compassion throughout their community.
From penning heartfelt messages to veterans and
first responders to cleaning up public spaces and crafting holiday cheer for
nursing home residents, Bobcean students are making an indelible mark on the
hearts and lives around them. The Raise Craze initiative places the emphasis on
action for others, with each kind deed representing a step toward a more caring
and connected community.
While the acts of kindness are the highlight, the
initiative has also successfully raised $43,000 to further enrich educational
experiences at Bobcean Elementary. These funds have contributed to an array of
projects, including field trips, educational assemblies, and the recent
addition of a lending library for teacher and staff development.
The school’s culture of compassion has been
furthered by the Family Kindness Night, a cherished event where Bobcean
families gather to continue this chain of kindness. This year’s event was made
even more special with Cattrick, the mascot from the Toledo Walleyes, who
joined the festivities, demonstrating that everyone, no matter how big or
small, can contribute to the cause.
