Note: This is for new to the district students only

Please follow these two steps to enroll for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school year:

  1. Complete the online pre-enrollment, click here.

  2. There are two options to complete the enrollment:

    • NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED - You may upload the required documentation (see below) to the online pre-enrollment. All documents must be uploaded and a clear image. You will receive the enrollment documents by email for electronic signature.

    • BY APPOINTMENT - Once the pre-enrollment is complete, click here to make an appointment to complete the enrollment. All documents must be turned in at this appointment. See the list of required documents below.



      Flat Rock Community Schools buildings are the following:

    • Flat Rock Early Childhood Center - GSRP

    • Ethel Bobcean Elementary - Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

    • John Barnes Elementary - 3rd Grade through 5th Grade

    • Simpson Middle School - 6th Grade through 8th Grade

    • Flat Rock Community High School - 9th Grade through 12th Grade

Student Registration/Forms

The laws of Michigan state that a child's residence for educational purposes is with his/her parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

Enrollment Documents

At the time of registration Parent(s) or Legal Guardian(s) MUST provide the following documents:

**Proofs of Residency (two required)

  • Current mortgage statement, property tax bill, closing papers, or lease agreement.

    AND

  • Current utility bill, bank statement, voter ID, or payroll check.

    • The proofs must be an official statement with the parent/guardian's name and address.

**Valid Driver's License

**Birth Certificate

  • Note: The Michigan Missing Children’s Act (MCL 380.1135) requires that you provide a copy of the child’s original birth certificate when you are enrolling in school. If a birth certificate is not available, the parent/guardian must complete the birth certificate affidavit form and submit another reliable proof of age and identity document. Other reliable proof documents are:

    • Baptismal certificate indicating the date and place of birth

    • County, military, or immigration records

    • Hospital or Doctor records accompanied by sworn statements

    • Passport

    • Court Documents

**Court-ordered legal guardianship documents, if applicable

**Special Education documents, if applicable
