FRCS Early Childhood Center Building

Flat Rock Community Schools is excited to announce the purchase of a new addition to their facilities. The former River Heights Academy building will serve as the Flat Rock Community Schools Early Childhood Center and offer a range of programs for young children in the community.

One of the programs that will be offered at the new center is the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP). This program is designed to provide high-quality preschool education to children who may be at risk of falling behind their peers. The GSRP program is funded by the state of Michigan and is available to families who meet certain income requirements.

In addition to the GSRP program, Flat Rock Community Schools offers tuition-based preschool through a partnership with Champions for families who do not qualify for the GSRP program. This partnership allows all families in the community to access high-quality early childhood education for their children.

The new building will be specifically designed to meet the needs of young children. It will feature age-appropriate classrooms, a child-friendly playground, and other amenities to help create a positive learning environment for children.

The purchase of the new building represents a significant investment in the future of Flat Rock Community Schools. By providing high-quality early childhood education, the school district is helping to ensure that children in the community have the best possible start in life. This, in turn, will help to create a stronger and more vibrant community for years to come.

The Flat Rock Community Schools Early Childhood Center is expected to open in the near future. For more information or families interested in enrolling their children in one of the programs offered at the center, please contact the school district at 734.535.6500 or visit our website at www.flatrockschools.org.
